About

For more than ten years MIXOLOGY’s specialists have chased the most exquisite drinking spots and the best bartenders, always on the trail of interesting, cutting-edge stories and curious about the world of bar culture. Magazine topics range from discussions of a city’s bars, presentations of new spirits and other products, bar histories, reports of competitions, right through to analyses of professional techniques and advice on setting up a home bar. MIXOLOGY is a continuing success story!

    Beginnings

MIXOLOGY, a specialist bar culture magazine, was founded by professional bartenders Jens Hasenbein and Helmut Adam in 2002. At the time, they both worked in the (now closed) Lore Bar in Berlin. Noting the lack of up-to-date, professional information on the bar industry, they filled the gap with their own bar magazine. From a small bartender fanzine with special content for bar professionals, it has grown over the years into a wide-reaching, incisive print and online publication.

Since 2007 MIXOLOGY has been a media partner for the bar and beverage fair Bar Convent in Berlin, which Jens Hasenbein and Helmut Adam helped found. The Bar Convent is one of the most important international platforms for the bar industry, attracting thousands of visitors from across Europe every year.
