Currently our GSA readers suggest their nominees for our second Mixology Bar Awards in the category Spirit of the Year 2008. The spirit has to be available in the wholesale somewhere in the world. No spirit producers, brand owners and retailers are allowed to submit suggestions. Last year Green Chartreuse won the award. The award for Spirit of the Year is given to a brand that had a significant impact on the bar and cocktail scene in the GSA countries.

The suggestions are publicly submitted in a forum thread of our German site. We’re closing the thread on September 5th. Then the jury will decide about 10 nominees in that category. The Mixology Bar Awards 2008 will be presented at the second day of Bar Convent Berlin (September 30th).

Helmut Adam ist Herausgeber von Mixology, Magazin für Barkultur, trinkt gerne Negronis, Tequila und den einen oder anderen Gin & Tonic. Bevor er sich zum Bar Manager an der Mixology Bar aufschwang, arbeitete er als Bartender in Zürich, Wien, Berlin und London.
