Online registration for Bar Convent Berlin 2009 will close in six days, on September 27th, 2009! In the meantime, Mixology subscribers can still get free access to Bar Convent after registering at the BCB website. All other visitors will attend for a discounted rate if they use the online registration.
It’s only six days until registration for Bar Convent will close. If you are a sbucriber and you have lost your subscription number – no worries: just write an email with full name and address to Jonathan (jonathan@mixology.eu). We ‘ll look it up for you. Please do also note that the opening hours of Bar Convent have changed this year. When we asked our readers in an online poll, over 64% opted for late opening hours. It’s obvious that an event for an industry that works at night, must be adapt to her specific needs. The Convent will therefore open its doors from 12 pm to 8 pm on both show days.

In Bar Convent’s third year the Traveling Mixologists will maintain a tradition. On the evening of the 4th of October, the prelude to Bar Convent Berlin, the new Admiral’s Bar, led by Goncalo Sousa Monteiro, will open its doors for all visitors. And this time there’s no need to worry about lack of space. There’s Admirals Club next to the bar providing space for approximately 500 people. The location is currently under construction, so this time it the event will have a very relaxed and laydback vibe. Traveling Mixologists @ Admiral’s Bar starts around 10 pm.

On the last day of the Bar Convent Berlin 2009 (October 6th, 2009) the Mixology Bar Awards ceremony will take place as it has in the past two years. We’ve chosen a new location for it this year: Umspannwerk in Kreuzberg. The doors will open at 9 pm while the ceremony will start at 10 pm. The award show will be moderated by Philip Duff (Door 74, Amsterdam) and Gregor Scholl (Rum Trader, Berlin).
For the first time at the Mixology Bar Awards 5 bartender city teams will join into a competition to win the new and prestigious "Mixology City Award". Tickets for the Mixology Bar Awards will only be available on Bar Convent Berlin. They’ll be handed out to all visitors at the entrance.
