Our neighbourhood is hit by the forces of mainstream

We at Mixology moved to our current address in summer 2005. When we were looking for office space to bury our start-up status, we decided for the Eastern part of Kreuzberg. The area known as "Wrangekiez" has a very laid back feel to it. Over the last 2 years the number of bars and restaurants here in Schlesische Strasse has grown significantly. More and more tourists visit the area and the nightlife has been booming as well, with a number of well-known clubs and concert venues close by.

The Spree river is adding to the athmosphere – a big bonus in summer as there’s a couple of nice beach locations. Our favourite: Club der Visionaere. All in all a nice, friendly and unorthodox working environment that has helped Mixology grow to what it is today. Our landlords treat us even more friendly now, as we’ve just rented an additional 100 m2 storage space. This shows that we intend to stay. Obviously the big corporate brands have noticed the buzz about this area, too. The Subway you see above is the first sign, that commercialization has arrived.

And it is not welcomed by all. Today a big grey graffito is covering the sign. The change we could observe here over the last two years, will even accellerate. Change is always fascinating.
