Inventory for September 4th, 2016

Welcome back to this week’s inventory! Today we’re taking a look at Paris’ Whisky Live 2016, Snoop Dogg’s partnership with Tanqueray, Glenfiddich’s new IPA-inspired whisky, and Star Wars tiki mugs. Cheers!

Fall is nigh and we can’t complain. All the more reason to drink beer, we say! Berlin will be home to the Braufest from September 9th until the 11th. That includes copious tastings, panels, and street food. Get the complete program here.

Paris: Whisky Live 2016

If you’ll be in Paris between the 24th and 26th of September, don’t miss La Maison du Whisky’s Whisky Live 2016 event. Three halls will be filled with more than 140 international whiskys and other spirits. Last year, more than 8.000 visitors attended the Whisky live, the fair hopes to trump this number today! Attendees can expect master courses, themed events, and tastings. More information here.

Snoop Dogg Partners with Tanqueray

Most of you will have heard of the classic summer of 1993 anthem ‘Gin & Juice’. Only 13 years after the fact its creator, Snoop Dogg, “has teamed up with Tanqueray to create signature cocktail recipes, include the liquor at his concerts, work on Tanqueray events, and release exclusive content and art projects inspired by the track”. Snoop Dogg says “When I wrote ‘Gin & Juice’ it was about good feelings and real experiences; it just naturally became a global anthem.

Tanqueray’s creative approach to representing ‘Gin & Juice’ as the drink I’m known for is authentic and it’s always been what we enjoy, so I whipped up a cool cocktail which I call the ‘Laid Back’ which y’all gotta try out”. One can only assume that Tanqueray hopes to regain its foothold as the gin for ‘gin & juice’.

Glenfiddich Unveils Beer-Influences Whisky

The whisky company has released a “series of innovative whiskies as part of its new Experimental Collection”. This series includes a single malt aged in ex-IPA beer barrels. The other launch product is an ambassador collaboration. “The collaborators had to design and create a new IPA craft beer that would go into whisky casks, which would later be used to finish the first experimental variant.

The intensive experimental process involved creating three separate brews of different strengths and levels of hops”. The Glenfiddich IPA Experiment is a single malt Scotch whisky that comes in at 40% that’s infused with “zesty citrus and tangy hops from the oak casks that had previously held a bold Speyside IPA”.

Star Wars Tiki Mugs

If you’re of the persuasion that drinking will take you “far, far away”, perhaps even to another galaxy, then these tiki mugs are for you. ThinkGeek just released a ceramic collection of Star Wars Geeki Tikis. Those lucky ones pictures as a mug include Boba Fett, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, R2-D2, Yoda, and a Stormtrooper. At $15 per jug they don’t break the bank. Buy them here.
