MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2017: The Winners!

Here’s to the champions! The 10th MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS are in the books. Get your overview about tonight’s winners right here, right now!

It’s been a thrilling night in the ballroom of Berlin’s Maritim Hotel – and the winners of the 10th anniversary of the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS are chosen. Thanks to our charming duo of hosts, Courvorsier’s global brand ambassador Rebecca Asseline and the Belgian bar entrepreneur Ben Belmans, the gala show in Berlin-Mitte was a glamorous but yet entertaining event for everybody around.

No feeling is ever comparable to the beginning of such an evening, when you can feel and hear the air sizzling amongst all the nominees who came to join the show. And for us as well: For the first time MIXOLOGY did not only dignify the best of the best in GSA’s (Germany, Switzerland & Austria) bar scene, but also tendered four award to honour the most impressive people, places and products in whole Europe. So let’s face the hard facts now:

Germany seems to have a new but old bar capital these days, since out of eight awards given to places or specific bartenders, the total of four prizes went to Munich this year: The trophys for Bar Team of the Year (Goldene Bar), Mixologist of the Year (Lukas Motejzik, Zephyr Bar & Herzog Restaurant), Host of the Year (Andreas Till, Pacific Times) and Bar of the Year Germany (Les Fleurs Du Mal) may cause some serious champagne showers within the community of „Italy’s most northern city“.

And just like last year – when Vienna’s The Sign Lounge won Bar of the Year Austria for the second time in a row – we have a succesful cup holder from the alps this time again: Cheers to the Widder Bar in Zurich’s eponymous grand hotel. The wonderful bar under the management of Dirk Hany was accoladed Switzerland’s Bar of the Year just like last time. Austrias new Bar of the Year can still be found in Vienna, but Kan Zuo’s The Sign Lounge passed its crown to the well known Hammond Bar.

When it comes to the European Awards, London certainly is the place to grab a decent drink – or more exactly: The Connaught Hotel, where you can visit the Best European Bar, The Connaught Bar, whilst getting your Dry Martini straight from the experienced hands of Europe’s Best Mixologist, Ago Perrone. And also the Best New European Bar, Marian Beke’s The Gibson, can be found in Britain’s metropolis.

We express our congratulations to all of tonight’s winners. Let’s make this a long and unforgettable awards night in the awesome bars of the Hauptstadt. Cheers, see you at BCB!
