MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2018: THE SHORT LIST NOMINEES
We’re very excited to announce the short list nominees for the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2018. A big congratulations to all this year’s nominees – you’ve done outstanding work. But for now, onto the all-important short list!
The jury is in and the short list has been decided. There was a very competitive field this year, and the decisions were difficult, to say the least. But with the short list now decided, there’s only a month to go until the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS gala dinner at Estrel Congress Center in Berlin on October 9th, 2017.
MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2018 Tickets Available
Tickets are now on sale for the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS gala dinner, or as we like to call it, bartenders’ Christmas. Make sure you don’t miss out on the European bar industry’s night of nights – book your tickets online now. Early bird tickets are available until September 4th, so the sooner you book in, the better.
If you need a little extra incentive, remember that the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2018 are presented on October 9th, the evening before BCB begins. That means back-to-back bartending and bar industry events in Berlin from October 9th to 11th!
Also on the evening of October 9th is BCB’s famous Mixology Market at Station Berlin, featuring food trucks and great cocktails. If you can’t decide between the gala dinner and the Mixology Market, don’t worry: the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS will be livestreamed into the Mixology Market, so you wherever you are, you won’t miss a thing.
We’ve also been working hard on our latest MIXOLOGY BAR GUIDE, No. 7. As always, we’ll be unveiling the new guide at the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS gala dinner. The MIXOLOGY BAR GUIDE has everything you need to know about where to get the best drinks in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, along with great bar world capitals including London and Paris. There’s also a shopping guide, featuring handy tasting notes on all the latest and greatest beers and spirits. Speaking of spirits, this year’s MIXOLOGY BAR GUIDE includes a special feature focussing on gin.
Thanks Again to the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2018 Judges
We wouldn’t be able to hold the amazing gala dinner and give out these awards if not for the hard work of our MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2018 judges. They haven’t shied away from making difficult decisions on the way to creating this short list.
Our GSA judges, led by Erich Wassicek from Halbestadt Bar, represent the bar wisdom of the entire GSA region. Along with Erich, the GSA jury is Thomas Huhn (Les Trois Rois), Wolfgang Bogner (Tales Bar), Gerhard Kozbach-Tsai (Tür7), Arnd Henning Heißen (Fragrances and The Curtain Club), Kent Steinbach (Mojito’s Fine Cocktailbar), Gabriel Daun (Gekkos), Torsten Spuhn (Modern Masters), and of course our own Peter Eichhorn.
The four European awards: European Mixologist of the Year, Best European Bar, Best New European Bar, and Best New European Spirit or Bar Product, are decided by our European jury, led by The Maestro himself, Salvatore Calabrese. This year, European jury is the largest and most diverse yet, with 17 jury members representing 17 different countries, from Spain, France, and Germany, to Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Russia.
Now, let’s raise a glass to the MIXOLOGY BAR AWARDS 2018 short list!
